6:30 p.m.: Central Lyon Fire has lifted evacuation orders but people are to stay out of fire department operations. CLCFPD reports 2 homes were lost in the fire. No report on injuries.
Lyon County will be closing its shelter.

Update, 5 p.m.: Command reports forward progress of the fire has been halted, according to Lyon County manager Jeff Page.

Original post: Lyon County manager Jeff Page reports Central Lyon Fire is on scene of a two-structure fire in Silver Springs in the area of Esmeralda and Truckee. The public is asked to stay out of the area until further notice. Resources from Carson City, Yerington, Storey County and Lyon County Road Department are responding. County personnel have received a report of a number of civilians showing effects of smoke inhalation. Emergency medical services are establishing a triage area.

Lyon County has opened a shelter at the Silver Springs Community/Senior Center at 2945 Fort Churchill Road.
