Fallon Mayor Ken Tedford and council members Bob Erickson, James Richardson and Kelly Frost recognized five track & field athletes Wednesday at a special city council meeting.
Colton Peterson, Reid Clyburn, Trevor East and Jonathan Cisneros took first place at the 3A state championship in the 4x100 relay, winning in 43.47 seconds.
Colton Peterson broke the school record in the 200-yard dash in 21.83 seconds. Steve Heck held the record since 1986 when he ran the event in 21.90 seconds.
Allie Lister broke the pole vaulting school record twice during the season. She broke it on March 23 at the Elks meet at 10 feet; the record had been held by Maddie Allegre at 9-feet, 6 inches, set in 2013.
Lister broke the record again at the 3A state meet at 10-6.
