Youth martial arts classes beginning March 11

Pee Wee martial arts classes are available for 5- to 8-year-olds from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. Tuesdays or Thursdays and intermediate karate classes are available for 9- to 15-year-olds from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays March 11 to May 9 at the Churchill County Multi-Purpose Building. The cost is $20 for Pee Wee and $30 for intermediate. Afterschool busing to class is available from Carson City School District schools. Rattlesnake Trail Run on April 13

This year’s Rattlesnake Trail Run takes place April 13 in Fallon. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m., the 10K race begins at 8 a.m. and the 5K race begins at 8:30 a.m. Race divisions include 19 and younger, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59 and 60 and older. The entry fee is $25 per person and includes a guaranteed event shirt if registration is completed by March 29. The race starts and ends at the Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe Administration Building at 565 Rio Vista Drive. Water stops will be available during the run; pets and strollers are not recommended.
