Deputies probe death of man whose body was found in Fernley

FERNLEY — Lyon County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a field near a gas station in Fernley.

The sheriff’s office says they received a call from a citizen who found the body Wednesday afternoon near the Jackson’s gas station and mini mart south of U.S. Interstate 80.

Investigators say the African-American man with short hair and a mustache is estimated to be 30 to 40 years old. He had no property or identification on him.

Anyone with any information regarding the case is asked to call the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office or Secret Witness.
