The Carson City High School class of 1979 will celebrate its 40-year reunion the weekend of July 19 to 21 in Carson City and the class is looking for classmates.
A banner will hang across Carson Street all week to welcome home alumni. Plaza Hotel is providing discounted rooms for the weekend.
Meet and greet will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at Living the Good Life. One Way Street — Nevada, will provide the rock and roll music and Carson City BBQ will provide award-winning cuisine.
On July 20, there are many different activities planned for everyone (golf, school tour, poker run). Local businesses have made donations and many sponsors will participate in the Poker run.
Saturday evening dinner will be held at Empire Ranch Golf Club. Cocktails will begin at 5 p.m. with a specialty drink being created by mixologist Tony Allec. A PowerPoint presentation of classmates’ nostalgic pictures and the business cards of sponsors was created to play throughout the night behind Tripping King Snakes. The night will feature buffet style dinner, games, dancing, photo ops, awards, prizes and reminiscing.
On July 21, a memorial PowerPoint will be offered to remember the classmates gone too soon.
For information, call Randy Willis at 775-461-6568.
RSVP, payment option and more information are available at AlumniClass.com or at the Carson City High School Class of ’79 reunion Facebook page.
Everyone who attended CHS with the class of ’79 is invited. All money, gifts and donations unused or unclaimed will be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs.
