Chief Justice Mark Gibbons announced Monday that he will not seek another term on the Supreme Court in 2020.
He has been a justice since 2002 and is the longest serving member of the court. Prior to his election, he was a district judge in Clark County for six years.
“Since judicial election filing opens in January 2020, I wanted to make this announcement early so people interested in the position could decide to file for the office,” he said.
