The Churchill County High School Theatre 2, 3, 4 class presents Joseph Kesselring’s 1939 comedy “Arsenic and Old Lace” on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the CCHS Theatre.
Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for CCHS students, $3 for younger students and senior citizens.
In this “absurdly gruesome yet gloriously funny comedy,” audiences will meet the charming and innocent ladies who populate their cellar with the remains of socially and religiously “acceptable” roomers and the antics of their crazed nephews — one who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt, one who looks like Boris Karloff, and another who’s a newspaper drama critic.
Drama instructor Glen Perazzo, who is directing the comedy, said students from the CCHS 2, 3, 4 class have been in final rehearsals for their upcoming production of the classic comedy. Class members include Emma Metz (Miss Abby Brewster), Sarah Ungaro (Miss Martha Brewster), Lucy Blodgett (Mortimer Brewster), Ben Jamieson (Jonathan Brewster), Josh Grantham (Teddy Brewster), Glen Perazzo (The Rev. Dr. Harper), Danielle Kulick (Elaine Harper), Michael Perez (Officer Klein), Heather Muller (Officer Brophy), Daemon Smith (Dr. Einstein), Joseph Harmony (Mr. Gibbs), Rian Smith (Lt. Rooney), Evan Donat (Mr. Witherspoon), Carlos Ayala-Benitez (Mr. Hoskins and Mr. Spenalzo), and 12 other “gentlemen” down in the cellar.
