One person was killed and several others injured Tuesday in a three-car crash at Airport Road and U.S. 50 in Carson City.

Trooper Hannah DeGoey said investigators are still sorting out exactly what happened but that the blue Chevy Impala appears to have caused the wreck by running a red light at that intersection. The deceased was in the Impala, which overturned in the wreck.

NHP initially thought that four vehicles were involved and that a blue Chevy Tahoe fled the scene, but DeGoey said the Chevy pickup wasn’t involved in the crash.

She said she expects to have the name of the victim Wednesday after NHP confirms that the next of kin has been notified.

The crash occurred at about 6:40 p.m.
