The Nevada Department of Transportation is seeking public input on transit needs in rural Nevada including public transportation needs.
A spokesman said they will be reviewing needs for public, private and non-profit transportation to work, medical appointments and entertainment.
The department held a series of workshops on the subject this summer which has been compiled into a draft for public review. That draft plan is available at https://www.nevadadot.com/mobility/transit/transit-resources.
Public comment on the review can be submitted by email to transportation planner Matt Bradley at mbradley@dot.nv.gov The deadline for submitting comments is 5 p.m., Oct. 22.
The plan will be used to prioritize future transit spending in rural Nevada.
NDOT receives nearly $10 million a year in Federal Transit Administration funding to support local projects.
