Zach Sever qualifies for NAIA Championships
Carson High alumni and Bryan College freshman Zach Sever qualified for the NAIA Championships at the Appalachian Athletic Conference meet Saturday, Nov. 14.
Throughout Sever’s freshman season, the former Senator has shown his talents, as Bryan College took fourth of 11 teams at the conference meet.
His performance in his first season also earned him a spot on the AAC All-Freshman team.
Sever finished his 8K in 28:01, which was good for 24th as an individual.
The NAIA National Championships will be held April 9, 2021 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Jayden DeJoseph excels against Fresno State
In an exhibition contest against NCAA Div. I Fresno State, former Carson High basketball player Jayden DeJoseph had quite the performance.
Despite the 87-47 loss, William Jessup’s DeJoseph put together 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting from behind the 3-point arc.
DeJoseph, who earned the start to begin his junior campaign, also had two steals in 27 total minutes played.
The Warriors play at the NAIA level and have contests against Seattle University and the University of Portland this weekend.
