The new owner of Shelby’s Book Shoppe is having a holiday open house 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 14.
Bethany Davey Frediani purchased Carson Valley’s only bookstore from founder Linda Finch.
The store has been open for 10 years, after Finch moved Eddy Street Book Exchange from Gardnerville in 2010.
Shelby was Finch’s Australian cattle dog.
Frediani is a Carson Valley native who said her love of books and the arts was what inspired her to take over Shelby’s.
“We’ll have several local artisans here featuring their products, and we’ll be highlighting books by local authors, grab n’ go gift sets, giveaway drawings, and complimentary refreshments,” she said. “We know holiday shopping looks a bit different this year so we want to give people a “one-stop shop” where they can have fun and find something for everyone on their list while supporting local small businesses.”
Shelby’s is located at 1663 Lucerne St., Suite C in the Minden Plaza.
