Nine Carson City businesses were cited Wednesday for failing an alcohol compliance check, according to a press release from Partnership Carson City.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers in conjunction with Partnership Carson City conducted the alcohol compliance check.
Wednesday’s check was conducted with the support of two 16-year-olds, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old who were sent into local businesses in an attempt to purchase alcohol, according to the release. When asked for ID, each would present their real identification cards.
In total, 50 businesses were screened during the compliance check and nine of those businesses failed the check. Compliance checks are conducted to keep alcohol out of the hands of minors.
