The Lady Wave volleyball team ended the season on a high note.
Fallon defeated Lowry in five games – 25-22, 25-27, 25-10, 24-26 and 15-9 - on Friday at the Elmo Dericco Gymnasium to finish the season at 3-6.
The Oasis Academy volleyball team, the No. 2 seed from the 1A West, fell in its opener to Pahranagat Valley, the 1A South’s No. 1 seed, in four games in the regional tournament in Tonopah on Saturday.
The Bighorns lost the first game, 25-19, but came back to even the match with a 25-21 win in the second game. Oasis Academy finished the season with only two losses, both coming to the top seeds in the 1A West (Virginia City) and 1A South.
No statistics from both volleyball matches were available.
Cross country
Fallon junior Savanna Regli was less than two minutes from cracking into the top 10 in Saturday’s Northern 3A cross country regional meet at SHadown Mountain and Reed High School in Sparks.
Regli finished 13th with a time of 23 minutes, 58 seconds, while teammate Zoey Brown finished 30th in 26:21. Spring Creek senior Kendra Lusk won the event in 19:11, the only time recorded under 20 minutes.
Cameron Christy finished 31st with a time of 21:49 to lead the boys division and Gerik Wassmuth finished in 27:04. Elko junior Isaiah Dahl won the event in 17:54.
Girls Golf
In the final tournament of the year, junior Lainee Reid led Fallon with a 101 to place fifth at Elko last Monday.
Junior Gabby Loop carded a 107 and freshman Hannah Benjamin finished with a 114.
