Just two weeks after the Legislature building reopened to the public, officials there reported the building’s first COVID case Wednesday.
A statement issued by the Human Resources division says they have been notified a person who works in the building has tested positive.
The Department of Health and Human Services is performing contact tracing and will notify anyone who was in close contact with that person.
“Nevertheless, if you have been in the building, you should continue diligently monitoring your health for any unusual or unexplained symptoms,” the statement says
The statement reminded people entering the building to complete the health screening, wear a facemask anytime you are around other people and maintain social distancing.
For those not yet vaccinated, shots are available for free at the mobile site across 5th Street from the Legislature.
The building reopened to the public on a limited basis April 15.
