Individuals wanting a deeper understanding of how to care for their Northern Nevada gardens and landscapes are invited to attend University of Nevada, Reno Extension’s online Home Horticulture Certificate Program, provided by Extension’s Master Gardeners in Washoe County.

Participants will learn science-based horticulture information and practices for Northern Nevada from Extension faculty and staff, and from experienced horticulturalists. These classes are also the entry point and required for those who would like to become an Extension Master Gardener Volunteer in Washoe County.

“This series prepares those who think they may want to enroll in the Master Gardener training program and become a Master Gardener volunteer,” said Rachel McClure, Master Gardener coordinator for Washoe County. “But, it’s also just a great course for those not interested in volunteering, but who want a deeper understanding of the basics to care for their own landscape.”
