Carson City Library's Virtual Family Storytime attendees are in for a special treat: Two storytimes in August will feature authors reading their own books. Kate Narita will visit on Aug. 12 and Zara González Hoang on Aug. 26. Storytimers will hear each author read her book and then do a craft related to the story and illustrations. Children will also be able to ask the authors any questions they have about writing, illustrating or the stories themselves. PreK families who would like to sign up for Virtual Family Storytime can do so on the library's website: carsoncitylibrary.org/calendar. Questions can be directed to creativelearning@carsoncitylibrary.org. "We are so excited to offer these special storytimes to our young patrons," said Maria Klesta, Carson City Library's creative learning manager. "One of the benefits of having virtual programs is being able to more easily introduce new readers to the authors they love, and show them there are real people behind their favorite books."
