Lyon County had 4 deaths, 217 new cases, and 80 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Lyon County is 24 new cases per day with a 23.2% test positivity rate.

COVID-19 Vaccination Update
As of August 25, 2021, approximately 178,128 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered by Quad-County providers. CCHHS has administered 70,020 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Approximately 78,118 Quad-County residents have completed vaccination (received both doses of a 2-dose series vaccine such as Pfizer or Moderna or received the single dose Janssen vaccine) and 86,272 have initiated it (received the first dose of a 2-dose series such as Pfizer or Moderna). Data is not CCHHS’ and is taken from the Nevada Health Response Dashboard which can be found at https://nvhealthresponse.nv.gov/.
In Carson City, 30,379 residents have been completely vaccinated and 33,312 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 60.7% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Douglas County, 23,393 residents have been completely vaccinated and 25,460 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 53.0% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Lyon County, 23,549 residents have been completely vaccinated and 26,725 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 47.0% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Storey County, 707 residents have been completely vaccinated and 775 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 17.3% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.

All vaccines are available on a walk-in basis at every event for first, second, and third doses for those who are immunocompromised. Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing For Those With Symptoms Or Who Have Been Exposed
CCHHS will be hosting COVID-19 testing events throughout the Quad-County Region. Tests are available free of charge, on a first come, first serve basis; no appointments or pre-registration needed.
