The Rotary Club of Carson City is canceling this year’s Capital City Brewfest. The event was scheduled to take place Saturday, Aug. 28 in downtown Carson City.
Organizers say the heavy smoke in the area is the reason for the cancelation.
“We have come to this decision based on the health concerns for our volunteers, vendors and participants. The event will be rescheduled for early summer 2022,” organizer Jim Gray said in a news release. “This is a very difficult decision to make as the Brewfest is not only an extremely popular event but it is also our club’s major annual fundraiser. Money raised benefits many local youth programs, scholarships, grants and our foreign exchange programs.”
This is the second time the Capital City Brewfest has been canceled: the event was canceled last year due to COVID concerns. Refunds are available for those tickets purchased in advance. Purchasers can also choose to donate the ticket money to help fund important Rotary projects in our community.
Anyone who purchased tickets online may request a refund through eventbrite.com. Those who purchased from a Rotarian should contact that person for a refund.
