NOTICE OF HEARING
On June 1, 2021, Nevada Power Company d/b/a NV Energy (“NPC”) and Sierra Pacific Power Company d/b/a NV Energy (“SPPC”) (together,
“NV Energy”) filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (“Commission”) a joint application, designated as Docket No. 21-06001 (“Joint
Application”), for approval of their 2022-2041 Triennial Integrated Resource Plan (“IRP”), 2022-2024 Action Plan, and 2022-2024 Energy Supply Plan
(“ESP”).
On June 1, 2021, SPPC filed with the Commission an application, designated as Docket No. 21-06002 (“Application”), for approval of its Natural
Gas Conservation and Energy Efficiency Plan (“Plan”) for the period 2022-2024.
NV Energy filed the Joint Application in Docket No. 21-06001 pursuant to the Nevada Revised Statutes (“NRS”) and the Nevada Administrative
Code (“NAC”) Chapters 703 and 704, including, but not limited to, NRS 704.741 and NAC 704.9005 through 704.9525. NV Energy requests
confidential treatment of certain information contained within its Joint Application pursuant to NRS 703.190 and NAC 703.5274.
SPPC filed the Application in Docket No. 21-06002 pursuant to NRS and NAC Chapters 703 and 704, including, but not limited to, NAC 704.9702
through 704.9718. SPPC requests confidential treatment of certain information pursuant to NRS 703.190 and NAC 703.5274.
In its Joint Application in Docket No. 21-06001, NV Energy seeks approval of its 2022-2041 IRP, its three-year Action Plan for 2022-2024, and its
ESPs for 2022-2024. NV Energy requests that the Commission find that the cost of energy from two new company-owned renewable projects with
battery storage capacity are just and reasonable and approve the network upgrades associated with the new renewable projects, in addition to approval
of requests including, but not limited to, grid-tied battery storage energy systems, turbine upgrades at certain generating units, the demand side plan for
2022-2024, and the distributed resource plan for 2022-2024. Moreover, NV Energy requests expedited approval of upgrades to some of its combustion
turbine fleet and deviation from NAC 704.9237(2)(f) and 704.9237(3)(b).
The Application in Docket No. 21-06002 seeks approval of SPPC’s 2022-2024 Plan. SPPC states that the 2022-2024 Plan specifies the portfolio
of substantive conservation and energy efficiency programs that SPPC intends to undertake for its natural gas customers during 2022-2024. SPPC
proposes continuing the Gas Energy Education program, with Gas Energy Reports and Gas Energy Assessments as program components, in SPPC’s
Gas Conservation Energy Efficiency portfolio for 2022 – 2024.
