The annual Silver State Art Festival held in Carson City is a gathering of award-winning artists from all over the Southwest put on by the Nevada Gourd Society earlier this year. The festival raises money for the Carson City Senior Center’s Meals on Wheels program.
The participating artists and local businesses had donated more than 60 items to be raffled off. Unfortunately, this year’s festival did not happen because the Fuji Exhibit Hall was being used as an evacuation center for those impacted by the Caldor Fire in September.
Although the in-person raffle did not take place, the Nevada Gourd Society was still able to raise $5,500 thanks to the generosity of our members.
Save the date for next year’s Silver State Art Festival, which will take place Sept. 9-11.
