Gov. Steve Sisolak on Wednesday issued a statement urging the Board of Regents to continue with plans announced earlier this year to mandate vaccinations for all employees.
“We know without a doubt that COVID-19 vaccines help prevent severe cases, hospitalization and death from this virus,” he said.
He said the board should require proof of vaccination for employees to help prevent the further spread of the virus. He said the board has the power under Nevada’s constitution to take measures to create a safer and healthier environment for students, staff and faculty.
He concluded by thanking those students, staff and faculty who have already gotten their shots.
