As an established two-year higher education institution, many students attend Western Nevada College to earn an associate degree before transferring to a university or four-year college.
WNC is providing that service to students at a high level, and it’s not going unnoticed.
The website Intelligent recently rated WNC as the most-friendly transfer institution in its assessment of the Best Colleges in Nevada.
“Our research found your institution to be most transfer friendly,” Intelligent Communications Manager Jase Beard said. “This speaks to the amazing work that your faculty is doing and demonstrates to over 500,000 of our monthly visitors that your programs provide top-quality education that can help students achieve their career aspirations.”
After graduating from WNC, many students transfer to University of Nevada, Reno, which has increased degree and program partnerships and heightened collaboration with WNC officials to make students more aware of credits that will transfer to the university.
“We really value the partnership we have with UNR and the benefits that this association provides our students,” said WNC President Vincent Solis. “Our priority is our students and we want to ease their transition from WNC to a four-year university or college so they can reach their higher education and professional goals.”
