RENO — Caesars Entertainment has announced plans for another round of remodeling at one of its downtown Reno properties, a $47 million renovation at the 25-year-old Silver Legacy Resort Casino, the Reno Gazette Journal reported.

The renovation expected to be completed by June involves the redesign of nearly 1,200 rooms from the fifth through 25th floors at the hotel-casino on the main drag of the downtown casino district.

"We want to give guests a visit to remember when they stay with us at Silver Legacy," said Silver Legacy Regional President and General Manager Glenn Carano. "Part of that memorable experience includes one of the most important elements to a trip: the hotel accommodations."

Improvements to the rooms will include replacing carpets and flooring, retiling bathrooms, updating windows and drapes and installing new art and decor pieces. The renovation also involves plans to install new hardwood furniture and self-serve coffee makers and updated lounge seating with flat-screen, high definition televisions.

The renovations were designed by Reno firm MBA Architecture and Design in collaboration with St. Louis-based architect KdG.

The Silver Legacy opened in 1995. It's now part of the three Row properties — including the neighboring Eldorado Resort Casino and Circus Circus Reno — that moved under the Caesars Entertainment umbrella after the gaming giant was acquired by Eldorado Resorts in a $17.3 billion merger last summer.

The merger created the largest U.S. casino and gaming company.

Eldorado decided to use the more well-known Caesars name for the merged company. It owns and operates more than 55 casino properties in 16 U.S. states, including eight resorts on the Las Vegas Strip.

The latest round of improvements at the Silver Legacy follow a $100 million remodel of the downtown Reno tri-properties in 2019.

The previous improvements included work on the Top Golf Swing Suite and The Spa at Silver Legacy, as well as changes to the Circus Circus Midway and additional dining options.

Don Carano founded Eldorado Resorts and opened the Eldorado Hotel in Reno in 1973.
