Brought to you by the Carson Follies, expect to laugh until tears run down your face. Tears of joy, tears of laughter, tears of happiness. Showtimes are 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. July 10. This year’s show is titled “Comedy Thru the Ages” and features comedy to get the crowd filled with laughter. Performed at the Carson City Senior Center, enjoy a special tribute to Carson Follies dignitaries, Marco Gentile, celebrating 95 this year, and the Golden Girls, Alyce Dickson, Barb Halvorson-Magee and Pat Johnson. Acts include classics like King Tut and Pfft You Were Gone. Tickets are free this year as the Carson Follies gift back to the community hit hard by the pandemic. Raffle tickets will be sold in the lobby before and after the show. The Follies has long been a fundraiser for Carson City’s Meals on Wheels program. Carson City Meals on Wheels provides more than 300 hot, nutritious meals daily to homebound seniors who might otherwise struggle to get enough to eat. The program will deliver an estimated 90,000 meals this year. For information, email Courtney Warner, executive director for the Carson City Senior Center and Carson City Meals on Wheels, at CWarner@carson.org, or call the Center at 775-883-0703.
