Gov. Steve Sisolak’s two top staffers are leaving.
Chief of Staff Michelle White and Senior Adviser Scott Gilles have announced their resignations.
Gilles’ last day is Friday. White will stay on through the summer to give Sisolak time to find a successor and ensure a smooth transition.
“They have been with me from the start and they have held the public’s interest at the forefront of what they do every day,” Sisolak said. “I will miss them tremendously.”
White has been in leadership positions in Nevada politics for a decade and was named to head the governor’s transition team in November 2018. She has served as chief of staff since his inauguration.
Gilles joined the governor’s staff in January 2019. Before that he worked for the city of Reno managing governmental affairs and legislative relations for four years. Prior to that he was deputy secretary of state for elections.
White and Gilles served on Sisolak’s team through the pandemic and the economic crisis it caused.
Neither has announced their plans.
