Carson City Health and Human Services on Thursday reported a COVID-related death during the week of July 8-14.
The individual was a Lyon County resident, CCHHS said in a news release.
CCHHS is also reporting 59 new cases and 68 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 13,232, with 12,815 recoveries and 230 deaths; 187 cases remain active.

Carson City had 12 new cases and 23 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Carson City is 2 new cases per day with a 6.1% test positivity rate.
Douglas County had 11 new cases and 17 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Douglas County is 1 new case per day with a 5.9% test positivity rate.
Lyon County had 1 death, 35 new cases, and 26 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Lyon County is 3 new cases per day with a 10.5% test positivity rate.
Storey County had 1 new case and 2 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Storey County is 0 new cases per day with a 7.1% test positivity rate.
COVID-19 Vaccination Update
As of July 14, 2021, approximately 165,958 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered by Quad-County providers. CCHHS has administered 68,786 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Approximately 71,988 Quad-County residents have completed vaccination (received both doses of a 2-dose series vaccine such as Pfizer or Moderna or received the single dose Janssen vaccine) and 78,073 have initiated it (received the first dose of a 2-dose series such as Pfizer or Moderna). In Carson City, 27,917 residents have been completely vaccinated and 30,218 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 55.8% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Douglas County, 22,679 residents have been completely vaccinated and 24,215 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 51.4% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Lyon County, 20,918 residents have been completely vaccinated and 23,120 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 41.73% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Storey County, 474 residents have been completely vaccinated and 520 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 11.58% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.

You no longer need an appointment for CCHHS COVID-19 vaccine clinics in the Quad-Counties region! COVID-19 vaccine events will be held throughout the community each week and all three vaccines will be available on a walk-in basis. Anyone who needs their first OR second dose is welcome!
