Gov. Steve Sisolak traveled to the Lahontan Valley May 24 and visited a number of businesses that received Pandemic Emergency Technical Support grants from the state, and he also toured the Fallon Tribal Health Center’s vaccination pod at Fox Peak Cinema.

“I took a trip to Fallon to visit some local businesses and see the amazing work underway to ensure Nevadans have convenient access to the COVID-19 vaccine. Every vaccine gets us one step closer to our full economic reopening,” Sisolak said. “I want to thank organizers at the Fallon Tribal Health Center’s vaccination pod at Fox Peak Cinema and all of the small business owners in Fallon who opened up their doors to me today. We are well on our way to a full economic reopening and building back a better Nevada for all those who call our state home.”

Sisolak visited the following business during his tour: The Fallon Food Hub, the Wok restaurant and Fallon Pet Oasis. The governor stopped at Lattin Farms to visit with Kelli Kelly, director of the Fallon Food Hub.

“It was great to meet her in person after awarding her a PETS grant,” Sisolak said. “I remember visiting the farm for a corn maze fair.”

Sisolak stopped at The Wok and met owner Chi Van. He commended the restaurant for its “amazing food” and fundraisers.

“They are opening a market next door, a great sign our economy is coming back,” Sisolak said.

Ciera Coatney, owner of Pet Oasis, gave Sisolak a tour of the facility. He said Pet Oasis provides a “Home Away From Home” for our beloved pets through boarding and daycare services.

Sisolak visited the Fallon Tribal Health Center’s vaccination pod where organizers are ensuring the Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe and surrounding communities in Fallon have access to the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Like Fallon Food Hub, both The Wok and Pet Oasis received PETS grants,” Sisolak said. “With Diversify Nevada and the Nevada State Treasurer’s office, we have done tremendous work to ensure small businesses in need have access to these funds. Businesses like the ones I visited today are the backbone of our economy, and I am so glad we prioritized them for funding.”
