The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are presumed innocent unless convicted in court.
FRIDAY
• At 7:41 p.m., Jonathan Duvall, 42, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit vehicle theft after deputies were called to the area of Park and Carson streets. The arrest report says he approached a couple who were loading their bicycles into a truck and asked for their keys saying he was going to steal their stuff. The woman said she thought he had a knife in his hand but that he kept his hand behind him. After she called 911, Duvall fled the scene when he heard sirens. When he was apprehended, the arrest report says he admitted trying to rob the couple. His bail was set at $40,000.
• At 8:12 p.m., Jeffrey Edwards. 35, was arrested after a traffic stop at Carson and Clearview for riding an unregistered and licensed quad on the roadway. The arrest report says he initially attempted to accelerate and drive away. He stopped at the Terrible’s gas station parking lot. He is accused of refusing the deputy’s commands. After they forced him to the ground, a search found what was described as a .44-caliber revolver in his pocket. The report says he continued to refuse to cooperate, yelling that the deputies were going to die. He was charged with felony carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, intimidating a peace officer for making threats, failure to yield and resisting arrest as operating an off-road vehicle on a public highway. Bail was set at $14.600.
SATURDAY
• At 2:21 p.m., Victor Salas, 44, was arrested after deputies responded to an apartment on Hot Springs Road on a domestic violence call. The victim told deputies he was extremely intoxicated when he arrived home and grabbed her by the hair, pushing her to the ground then brandishing a ceramic bowl as if to hit her in the head. She pepper-sprayed him. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery. Bail was set at $23,000.
• At 4:21 p.m., a 52-year-old investment adviser was arrested after a traffic stop outside Grocery Outlet for running a red light. She was charged with DUI 2nd alcohol and the traffic violation. Bail was set at $2,540.
• At 4:31 p.m., a 55-year-old was arrested on an outstanding warrant charging violation of bail conditions after a traffic stop for no license plates. Bail was set at $1,000.
SUNDAY
• At 12:51 a.m., a 20-year-old couple was arrested outside Bodines after a traffic stop for speeding. Both were charged as minors consuming alcohol and possession of alcohol. She was charged with possessing paraphernalia, DUI 1st alcohol, speeding and child endangerment because there was an infant in the vehicle. The male was additionally charged with possession of marijuana. Her bail was set at $4,800. His bail was set at $2,800.
• At 10:13 a.m., a 52-year-old mechanic was charged with violating a temporary protective order after deputies were called to an address on Granite Way. Bail was set at $3,000.
• At 10:35 a.m., a 59-year-old was arrested outside a residence on Pratt Avenue after approaching the resident with an axe over his shoulder saying he just got out of prison. He dropped his pants to show he was wearing jail clothing underneath. When told the resident didn’t need help, he refused to leave and began removing a stump in the yard. He was arrested for indecent conduct and violating bail conditions. He was held without bail.
• At 5:15 p.m., a 41-year-old was charged with domestic battery 1st offense after deputies responded to the area of Airport Road and Carmine. Independent witnesses said the victim was dragged across Airport Road by the defendant and that he hit her several times with a closed fist. Bail was set at $3,000.
• At 10:04 p.m., a 37-year-old Carson man was arrested after deputies were dispatched to an address on La Loma Drive in reference to threats. He was arrested because of a no-alcohol clause in his bail conditions and charged with harassment. Bail was set at $3,250.
TUESDAY
• At 12:30 a.m., Richard Perkins, 59, former speaker of the Nevada Assembly, was arrested on a DUI 1st alcohol charge after a traffic stop on South Carson Street for speeding. Perkins was a longtime Henderson Police official who retired as assistant chief and opened a lobbying firm, the Perkins Group. He served in the Assembly from 1992 to 2006 and was speaker from 2001-06. Bail was set at $1,045.
• At 4:08 a.m., a 51-year-old was arrested on a charge as an ex-felon failing to register a change of address after he was stopped for walking in the travel lanes of Carson Street, flailing his arms. Bail was set at $150.
