Nevada Highway Patrol: Carson City man killed in crash

A Carson City man was killed Monday in a crash north of Reno, according to a Nevada Highway Patrol news release.
Michael Richey, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.
On Monday, May 31 at approximately 4:34 a.m., NHP troopers responded to an injury crash at State Route 445 (Pyramid Way) and Sky Ranch Boulevard in Spanish Springs.
Preliminary investigation shows that a gray 2004 Honda Civic was traveling wrong-way northbound on SR-445 in the left lane of the southbound travel lanes north of Sky Ranch Boulevard.
A white 2003 Toyota 4Runner was traveling southbound on SR-445 in the left lane approaching the Honda. The front of the Honda struck the front of the Toyota, according to the release.
Richey, the driver of the Honda Civic, was pronounced deceased on scene.
This incident is being investigated by the NHP Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.).
