Tribal Animal Control has trapped one of three feral roaming dogs targeted by a recently-formed coalition of government agencies, according to a news release from Carson City.
The other two dogs are reportedly in the process of being trapped as officials have a clear visual of the tan colored dog’s location and believe the other is nearby, the release said.
“It is through the partnership of all three agencies, Tribal Animal Control, Nevada Humane Society, and our office that helped move this operation forward,” Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said in the release.
The Nevada Humane Society is waiting for the transfer of one of the recently captured dogs, the release said.
Residents are asked to call (775) 887-COPS (2677) to report immediate sightings.
The dogs are believed to be minimally socialized and not owned by any resident, according to a previous news release. The dogs are described as weighing between 60-80 pounds, one is brown, the other is tan with a black mask, and the third is black/brown with white on its face.
Citizens are urged to not approach or attempt to capture the dogs.
