The Mamie Eisenhower Literacy Program as listed in the National Federation of Republican Women's programs (MELP) has been a project of the Carson City Republican Women's Club for many years. As per the program, CCRW Club donate funds to the Carson City Library for it to purchase books that are recommended by the NFRW.
The books purchased by the library in 2020 have the following nameplates in them remembering and honoring great Republican women of the Club:
“Signing Their Lives Away, The Fame and Misfortune of the Men who Signed the Declaration of Independence” will be in memory of Sylvia DiVita.
“The Runaway Bunny” will honor CCRW President Sherese Settelmeyer.
“Remembering the Ladies” will honor CCRW First Vice President Patty Johnson.
“Founding Mothers, Remembering the Ladies” will be in memory of Abigail Adams.
“Camilla Can Vote: Celebrating the Centennial of Women's Rights to Vote” will be in memory of Susan B. Anthony
The National Federation of Republican Women will be notified of our contribution and our staunch support of educating the public along with remembering and honoring our Carson City Republican Women's Club members.
CCRW Club meets the third Tuesday of the month and welcomes the community to join them for Club updates and ongoing activities.
