Better than anyone, Western Nevada College Fine Arts Professor Rachel Stiff can attest to the increased number of students participating in the 2021 Student Art Show.
After all, Stiff needed to hang 126 pieces of artwork from 64 artists for the show in the Bristlecone Main Gallery, which opened in late April.
After the Student Art Show was canceled a year ago because of COVID, Stiff decided to open this year’s exhibit to all WNC students who have been enrolled in classes from Fall 2019/Spring 2020 and Fall 2020/Spring 2021.
Participants submitted artwork in mediums of drawing, painting, printmaking, digital media, photography, graphic art, ceramics, sculpture, book art and mixed media.
The show will continue into May. The Bristlecone galleries are located at 2201 W. College Parkway and are open to the public from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Artists are permitted to sell their artwork during the show. Contact them, if you are interested in purchasing one of their pieces.
