Churchill County vaccination, testing schedule

Churchill County’s May dates for those 18 and older to receive the free Moderna, Pfizer or Janssen vaccine and those 16 and older to receive the Pfizer vaccine are Tuesdays from noon to 3 p.m. (May 11, 18, 25); Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (May 12, 19, 26); and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (May 13, 20, 27).

All vaccines are administered at the Churchill County Public Health Drive-Thru site off Miner’s Road, just south of the county fairgrounds. Please follow the signage and enter the fairgrounds via Miner’s Road off Hwy 95 South.


First and Second Doses - Drive-through, no appointment needed; second doses are guaranteed so come by anytime the site is open) Designated lanes for first and second doses are available and second doses receive priority. Please bring a photo ID.


Bring your vaccination card to your second dose and refer to it to see when you are eligible for your second dose. You are able to get your second dose any time after its due date, but are not eligible to get it before the due date, per the CDC.


If you or someone you know is homebound, or cannot access the vaccine site for whatever reason, please call (775)423-6695, option 2 to discuss alternative options.


In addition to the fairgrounds, the Churchill County Public Health Team will be in Middlegate on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. to offer first and second doses of the Moderna, Pfizer and J&J vaccines to anyone 16 and older who shows up and wants one. Parents or guardians must be present for 16-17 year-olds seeking the vaccine.


Forms
Print and fill out the “COVID-19 Questionnaire” and “Pre-Vaccination Checklist” forms and bring them with you to the vaccine site. The forms will also be available at the vaccine site.


COVID Testing
For the month of May, free COVID testing is available at the Churchill County Public Health Drive-Through site on Miner’s Road off Highway 95 south on Tuesdays from noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rapid tests available only on May 25 and 26 from 3 to 4 p.m. No testing at all on Thursdays this month.
