Both the average number of daily virus cases and the rolling test positivity rate are dropping in Nevada, according to the COVID-19 Task Force.
Director Caleb Cage said the 14-day rolling average of daily cases is now just 216 and the positivity rate is 4.8 percent.
There are currently 301 hospitalizations from the virus and the Nevada Hospital Association says there has been no significant increases in hospitalizations since the counties lightened social distancing protocols May 1.
Karissa Loper, who manages the Nevada vaccination effort, said as of Tuesday, 2,129,945 doses of vaccine had been administered. That means 46 percent of the population has started vaccination and nearly 37 percent of those 12 and older have completed the process.
Of those, 5,947 are in the 12-15-year-old age group. To date, only the Pfizer vaccine has been approved for those under age 16.
