Jordyn Casey and Chelsea Martin, co-founders of Spiral Fitness, will hold a pop-up fitness class Saturday in the McFadden Plaza.
The workout class takes place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tickets are available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/153151639677 for $15.
Afterward, until 12:30 p.m., local businesses and vendors including The Lash Betty, Mom & Pops, EM3RSON art, Casey Neilon CPA Firm, Carson Tahoe Health and more will join Casey and Martin for a community hang-out. All visitors are welcome to participate in the hang-out, no tickets are required.
Workout class attendees can expect an “all-levels, fusion-style class,” Casey said.
She and Martin founded Spiral Fitness in April 2020, catering to adults looking for their at-home, virtual workout hookup during the pandemic. Casey was born and raised in Carson City, but started Spiral Fitness in Los Angeles.
Though most of their virtual fitness instructors are based in California, Casey and Martin have recruited workout gurus to teach remotely from across the country, and even overseas. Several instructors hail from Texas, New York and Spain.
The growing company has also hired some big names in fitness. Maurizio Tangari, who moved from Italy to the U.S. in 2010, is the inventor of the HydroCore, “the best water weight strength training tool of 2020,” according to Men’s Health.
Other trainers, like Michael Shaughnessy and Morgan Gillott, hold an impressive list of credentials. Shaughnessy maintains 25 active certifications, ranging from personal training and nutrition, to neurology and yoga. He’s also a licensed massage therapist, and he publishes articles on fitness and well-being in his spare time.
Gillott, a Northern Nevada native, attended the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. She has performed with Dance Lab New York and the national tour of Finding Neverland.
Instructors who teach through Spiral Fitness keep 100 percent of the proceeds from their classes.
