Carson City water restrictions effective June 1

As explained on the Carson City Public Works page, from June 1 to Sept. 30, Carson City residents must follow a lawn and garden watering schedule.
• Odd numbered addresses may water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
• Even numbered addresses may water on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
No watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
No watering on Mondays.
Hence, no resident should water for more than three days per week.
Residents may not allow water to run along the street, gutter or into storm drains. Hand watering is allowed when flowers, shrubs and vegetables need extra.
Public Works may approve exemptions for commercial gardeners and caretakers, new lawns, vegetable gardens, irrigation plans or handicapped accommodations. Call (775) 887-2355 or visit 3505 Butti Way for information about exemptions.
To help reduce water waste this summer, public works also encourages yard caretakers to only water when necessary and adjust sprinklers so that they water the lawn (not the sidewalk).
