Jordan’s Way is coming our way

Jasper is a four-year-old German Shepherd cross black/brown/white. He is a happy boy who loves his pool and enjoys walking on a leash. Jasper likes to ride in the car and ignores dogs in neighboring yards. He is not a big fan of shots, but he is OK with bathing and brushing. Come out and take a walk with him; he would love to be your BFF.

Watson here. You may be asking what Jordan’s Way is because I did. I found out that Jordan’s Way is the brainchild of Kris Rotonda who travels throughout the United States raising money for shelters. He’s on a 50-state tour and CAPS is one of his stops. He will be there 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday.
Kris was nursing a heartache from a broken relationship when he moved from New Jersey to Florida. He decided to visit a shelter and adopt a dog for companionship. That was when he met Jordan. Jordan was three years old and had lived in a shelter since she was born. It truly was love at first sight.
Jordan and Kris were BFF and constant companions until cancer took Jordan away. Kris vowed to Jordan’s memory to “Inspire people to adopt shelter animals and bring the unnoticed to the noticed.” That is when he founded Jordan’s Way.
Kris has indeed inspired many folks through his undying commitment to shelters across America. He is a ray of sunshine as he issues challenges to his Facebook audiences and actually does the challenges for donations.
Facebook has become the medium through which Kris is able to generate excitement and garner crowds. He has found that it’s much easier to use the media for a four-hour fund raiser than to stage a huge event. On Facebook, you get the crowd without the hassle.
Some of the trials he has already conquered include the peanut butter dog lick your face, 72-hour sit in a dog cage, pie in the face, and the 100-mile tire drag challenge. If you are a brave soul, come out and be challenged; it’s all in good fun! You can also follow the challenges on CAPS Facebook, or Jordan’s Way Facebook, or check out the website at https://jordansway.com.
Jordan’s Way mission statement says it all: “We are dedicated to sharing animal welfare stories that inspire people to adopt. Our goal is to influence the clearing of shelters. We create a buzz around shelters that builds a compassionate community of pet parents who will provide a permanent home. Any donation goes directly to funding shelters in need.”

LOOKING FOR A HOME
We have four Lab/mix puppies. They are so cute and ready for new homes.
We have kittens to foster! Call 775-423-7500 for details.
Policy, however, prohibits adopting out puppies or kittens under the age of six months to a home with children under five years of age. This is to protect both the children and the animal.
