Nevada’s Division of Water Resources is asking people to fill out a survey that will help them update the state water plan.
A spokesman said the new water plan will serve as a high-level policy and planning guide to address Nevada’s water challenges. That includes the increased demand for water, flooding, drought, dam safety and how to sustain the state’s wetlands and freshwater ecosystem.
“Nevada is in a critical time of water management,” said state engineer Adam Sullivan, administrator of the division. “As the driest and one of the fastest growing states in the nation, the demands on our limited water resources make thoughtful and strategic water management in Nevada more important than ever.”
