The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles recommends avoiding in-person visits to their offices Monday, Nov. 29.
DMV Director Julie Butler warned the Monday after Thanksgiving is traditionally the department’s busiest day of the year and visitors without an appointment will face long wait times.
One problem is that the DMV offices are closed from Thanksgiving Day through Sunday, Dec. 1.
She pointed out customers can do a dozen transactions online and at 41 self-service kiosks in supermarkets and other locations across the state. In addition, AAA offers vehicle registration and handicapped placard services at five locations.
“Enjoy your holidays and don’t get stuck in the long wait times early next week,” Butler said.
