A man, who had allegedly set three previous fires, was arrested Thursday evening in the Bodine’s Casino parking lot as he tried to set a fourth.
Deputies and firefighters responded to the fires around 5:40 p.m. from both Douglas County and Carson City.
East Fork firefighters reported someone had video of the fires being set.
One fire was in Douglas, another was in Carson City and a third was on Washoe Tribe Lands.
He was reportedly trying set a car on fire when he was arrested by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office. His name was not released.
The Nevada State Fire Marshal is investigating, Carson City authorities said.
No cause has been released for two fires along Jacks Valley Road on around 5 p.m. on June 9 and July 9 has been released.
Both fires started next to the road near the intersection with Bavarian Drive.
The 285-acre June 9 fire threatened residences and Jacks Valley School. The July 9 fire was 2.7 acres and started across the road from the first fire. A Forest Service investigator was seen photographing a spot near the fire’s origin.
