• Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space will host a 25th anniversary celebration of the Carson City Quality of Life Initiative. The event will run from 1-5 p.m. at Silver Saddle Ranch. Free admission. Live performances will take place by Sierra Sweethearts and Cowboy Poetry by Larry Marinel and Johanna Foster. Bus Boy and Great Basin Brewing Co will available. Bring your own chairs.

• The V&T Railway will be running all weekend. Check https://vtrailway.com/ for more information.

• Blinky Man, the after dark costumed bike ride, will meet at 6:30 p.m. at McFadden Plaza. Must be 21 and older to ride. Check https://www.facebook.com/BlinkyManCC/ for more.

• A two-mile walking tour of the east side of Carson City will start at 10 a.m. The free tour begins at the Capitol steps. For more info, call 775-315-7616.

• The Nevada State Railroad Museum will be free from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The museum also will be running the McKeen Motor Car from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday Saturday. Each ride lasts about 25 minutes. Cost is $8 for ages 12 and over; $4 for museum members and ages 4-11. Three and under are free. Call 775-687-6953 for more details.

• The 21st annual Nevada Builders Foundation Nevada Day Breakfast Buffet will take from 6:30-9 a.m. at Red’s Old 395 Grill, 1055 S. Carson St. Tickets are $6 in advance or $10 at the door.  For more https://nevadabuilders.org/event/nevada-day-breakfast-buffet-2/

• The Carson City Republican Women’s Club will host a pancake breakfast from 7-9:30 a.m. at the Governor’s Mansion, 606 N. Mountain St. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for kids 10 and younger. Proceeds go toward a scholarship of $2,000 to a deserving senior from Carson or Dayton high school.

• The 32nd annual Nevada Day Classic Run/Walk organized by the Tahoe Mountain Milers will start at 8 a.m. The Nevada Day Classic is organized in partnership with Guide Dog for the Blind, Kaia Fit, and Lynn Mentzer Timing. • The hot-air balloon launch will take place at 8 a.m. from near the Carson Mall.

• A Nevada Day Craft Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carson Mall.

• Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske and State Senator James Settelmeyer will host the 39th annual Nevada Day Chili Feed from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Carson Nugget. The event is free.

• 10 a.m. fly over and Nevada Day Parade starts.

• The 48th annual World Championship Single Jack Drilling Contest will take place starting about 11 a.m. in the Max Casino Parking Lot.

• The Stewart Indian School Cultural Center & Museum will be open from 1-5 p.m. Admission to the museum is free. The museum is located at 1 Jacobsen Way. Four Great Basin Native Artists will be demonstrating their art for the public in the museum’s galleries.

• The Nevada Day Beard Contest will take place immediately following the parade on the main stage at McFadden Plaza. The contest is hosted by Cipriani’s Downtown Barber Shop and Paradise Salon.

• The USAF Mobility Band will perform in McFadden Plaza at 3:30 p.m.

• The Curry Street After Party will take place about 4 p.m.

• The Carson City Railroad Association and Wild Horse Productions will present Halloween Fairy Tale Express from 2-5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Come in costume. Tickets are $5. For tickets, go to www.wildhorsetheater.com.


Sunday

• Trick-or-treating will take place in Carson City, including at the Governor’s Mansion.

• Living Stones Carson Church and the Brewery Arts Center will host the 2nd annual Halloween Park ‘n grab from 5-9 p.m. Information: https://www.facebook.com/events/177780401158840/

• The Carson Mall, 1305 S. Carson St., will host Trick-or-Treating from 4-5 p.m. Candy and bags for the first 300 kids. Enter through threw exit that is marked registration on the East Side parking lot by Joann's and back of Carson Home Furniture.
