The Treasury Department has awarded $135.6 million in American Rescue Plan Act money to expand and upgrade broadband internet service in Nevada. “The COVID-19 pandemic has made crystal clear just how important access to reliable internet is for our state,” said Sen. Jacky Rosen, D-Nev. She said over the past year Nevadans have used the Internet to conduct business, get health care and pursue an education. But she said many rural areas still don’t have broadband access. The federal money will greatly expand access to broadband and pay for other infrastructure across the state.
