Despite a one year pause in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dayton Valley Golf Club will continue a record run of 26 consecutive years of hosting PGA Tour Q-school, the longest streak for any course in the nation.
The Arnold Palmer-designed course first hosted a PGA Tour Qualifier in 1995. In 2013 the Web.com Tour became the path to PGA membership and in mid-season in 2019 the Tour changed title sponsors to become the Korn Ferry Tour.
The Korn Ferry Tour is now the path to PGA Tour membership. Twenty-five new 2021-22 PGA Tour members were determined from the top 25 money winners on the 2020-21 Korn Ferry Tour. Another 25 new PGA Tour Cards were determined for the 2021-22 season during the Korn Ferry Tour Championship played Sept. 2-Sept. 5. It was the last of three tournaments in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals Series.
Joshua Creel of Cheyenne, Wyo., who advanced to the Korn Ferry Tour from the 2018 Dayton Q-school, finished in 13th place at the 2020-21 Tour Championship to claim one of the 25 PGA Tour cards. Creel is the 37th player to have played in a Dayton Q-school to earn a PGA Tour card.
The Korn Ferry Tour qualifying process is comprised of five 54-hole pre-qualifying tournaments and three stages of 72-hole tournament qualifying to determine the final number of new members on the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour.
The 2022 Q-school began with Pre-qualifying tournaments at seven sites in August and September. A total of 234 players qualified for the first stage from a total pre-qualifying field of 486.
Dayton Valley is one of 12 sites across the country hosting First Stage qualifying tournaments in September. Second Stage qualifying will be played at five sites in October.
The Final Stage will be played Nov. 4-7 at The Landings Club in Savannah, Ga.
