The Lady Wave volleyball team swept North Valleys and Hug last week as it prepares for the 3A East schedule when Lowry visits Fallon today. In the win over North Valleys in Reno on Friday, Cassie Edgmon and Kiley Wallace each led the team in kills with five, and Sativa Clark added four. Jaqui Medrano finished with 17 total blocks, Wallace had 15 and Edgmon added 14. Emily Clyburn dished out 12 assists and Clark added eight. Zoey Lingenfelter led in digs with seven and Maddie Stephens had five. Clark also had two aces.

Tennis The Greenwave tennis teams split last week’s matches against Hug and Truckee. Both teams defeated Hug on Tuesday with the Lady Wave winning 14-4 in Reno and the Greenwave boys picking up a 10-5 win at the Edward Arciniega Athletic Complex. Against Truckee, one of the most consistent and best teams in the league, Fallon nearly pulled off the upset in the boys match. Truckee escaped with a 10-8 win on Thursday after Fallon suited only six players and forfeited six matches. The girls team did not compete against Truckee. Girls golf The Lady Wave golf team competed at the Lowry Tournament and hosted its first and only league tournament last week. Gabby Loop led the team in Winnemucca last Monday with a 120 score and Hannah Benjamin carded a 126. The low medalist – Truckee’s Ryan Flynn – finished with a 70. In the home tournament on Tuesday, Loop and Benjamin tied at 122. Flynn was the low medalist again with a 71. Cross country Fallon’s three-senior cross-country team competed in the Fernley Roadhill Invitational last week. Savanna Regli was the highest-placing runner of the group, finishing the 5,000-meter course in 26 minutes, 42 seconds for ninth place out of 40 runners. Zoey Brown finished in 18th at 29:32. In the boys division, Cameron Christy finished the race in 23:46 to place 23rd out of 50 runners.
