The Nevada Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies are out looking for motorists endangering pedestrians.
But a spokesman said they will also be ticketing pedestrians who violate traffic rules by jaywalking and other infractions.
Trooper Charles Caster said between 2015 and 2019, 378 pedestrians were killed on Nevada roadways. He said that is a 23.6 percent increase in pedestrian fatalities compared to previous years.
The enforcement program will continue through April 25.
