The Carson City Sheriff’s Office has scheduled a fall Citizen’s Academy beginning August 24.
Applications to attend can be picked up at the front desk in the sheriff’s department at 911 Musser St.
The academy will teach participants about the different departments in the sheriff’s office, meet the sheriff and deputies and learn about the different departments, dispatch, the jail and the SWAT team.
The academy runs for 10 weeks, meeting each Wednesday from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. in the Ormsby Room at the sheriff’s office.
Attendees must be at least 18 and will have to undergo a basic background check.
