Aaron West, a 1989 Churchill County High School graduate, has been hired as NVO Construction’s first chief strategy officer, the company announced.

West joins the Reno-based NVO after serving as CEO of the Nevada Builders Alliance for nearly a decade. He will join the company to help expand its footprint.

“Aaron brings dynamic leadership to our company as we scale up our efforts to transform the construction industry through innovation,” said Cheryl Lewis, founder and CEO of NVO Construction. “With Aaron’s help, we are well positioned to continue our strong growth trajectory as we bring our technological prowess to bear to improve productivity in the framing process.”

After graduating from CCHS, he attended Western Nevada College. He managed the Lumos engineering office in Fallon before moving to Reno in 2007. West was president of the Fallon Chamber of Commerce and the Churchill Entrepreneurial Association.

West also served on the Fallon Churchill Volunteer Fire Department for 11 years. In high school he was pole vaulter for the Greenwave and also played football.

Founded in 2020, NVO works in the $23 billion wood framing industry.

“NVO is actually doing what many others have only talked about: innovating,” West said. “I’m excited to bring my experience and passion to help this team continue to grow and make the home building process more efficient and less wasteful.”

Under West’s leadership, Nevada Builders grew into one of the state’s largest trade associations with more than 1,000 member companies representing all facets of the construction industry. In addition to its numerous member benefits, West advocated for Nevada’s builders during multiple legislative sessions, working with the state’s elected officials to ensure the industry’s needs and priorities were heard. Additionally, West facilitated the complete renovation and reopening of one of Nevada’s oldest bars in Carson City, Bank Saloon, during his tenure.

“We’re grateful for all the work Aaron has put in as CEO of the Nevada Builders Alliance,” said Jim Feser of Miles Construction and president of the Nevada Builders board of directors. “His steadfast advocacy and desire to train the next generation of workers will continue to shape how our association and industry move forward. We wish him the best of luck in his next endeavor.”

NVO is a leading manufacturer of roof trusses, floor trusses and wall panels. The company operates a 75,000 square foot manufacturing facility that uses automation to design and manufacture roof trusses, floor trusses and wall panels.
