Dear readers, I want to remind everyone to come to our fabulous garage sale Friday, Sept. 9 and Saturday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. We will be in the cool, air-conditioned Oasis Church at 1520 S. Maine. We are still accepting items so clear out your garage, storage shed or basement and call 775-423-7500 for pick up.

The CAPS garage sale is one of our main fundraising events. As you probably know, we are a non-profit organization and we need our community to come together and help us make it a big success. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue no matter what you are looking for I’m sure you will find a treasure to take home.

We have many wonderful items including antiques and furniture. This is your chance to find something delightful for a bargain price. If we don’t have it, you don’t need it! I hope to see you there.

Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. Many of you have lost loved pets and I know how much our pet babies mean to us. If you would like me to remember your pet in this column, please send me your pet’s name and a short description of him/her. I am limited in the number of words that can be published but I will try to make sure your loved one is remembered in “Over the Rainbow.” My email is jkwmil@outlook.com and I look forward to sharing your memories.

Is there a heaven for all creatures? Pope Francis has confirmed that “all of God’s creatures” can make it to heaven. As Will Rogers said, “If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.” Sounds heavenly to me.

LOOKING FOR A HOME

Eleven adorable kittens ages 15 to 20 weeks. There are eight boys and three girls in a rainbow of colors. All our babies need foster homes. Call 775-423-7500 for details.

Policy, however, prohibits adopting out puppies or kittens under the age of six months to a home with children under 5 years of age. This is to protect both the children and the animal.
