As of the end of November, the Secretary of State’s office reports there are more than 2.2 million registered voters in Nevada.
When just active voters are counted, registration totals 1.89 million. Officials point out that inactive voters can still show up and vote in elections simply by confirming they are Nevada residents living in the district where they are attempting to vote.
Of those registered voters, Democrats lead with 734,307, but Republicans are no longer the second largest block of voters in the state. They have 565,121 active and 654,145 total voters.
Non-partisan voters passed the GOP in registrations in active and inactive with 571,322 and 685,124 respectively.
In Carson City, total registrations finished November at 42,640. In the capital, the GOP still outnumbers Democrats 16,366 to 11,097.
As a matter of fact, GOP registration numbers lead Democrats in all 15 rural counties.
But Republicans lag badly in the where more than 70 percent of voters live — Clark, home of Las Vegas. Democrats there enjoy a 161,218-person registration advantage. Republicans still lead registration in Washoe County, but only by 3,000.
