Insane. There is an unfortunate man wandering about the streets, out of his mind. He is an object of real pity. He must suffer intensely from the cold yet seems to be unconscious of pain. He is seen in town for nearly a week and has slept several bitterly cold nights without any covering under the caissons on the plaza. We hope our more benevolent citizens who are in a position to see that he is cared for.

A convict at the Nevada penitentiary says he was sent to prison for being dishonest, and yet he is compelled every day to cut out pieces of pasteboard, which are put between the soles of the cheap shoes made there and palmed off on the innocent public as leather — Reveille. According to shoe dealers who purchased the goods, they got about all the leather they should have.

A Washoe Zephyr. Scatters a church door to the four corners. An ocular illustration to the fury of last night’s gale occurred at St. Mary’s church, one of the massive doors being twisted from its fastenings and whirled into the street. Further evidence of Boreas’ nocturnal frolic is visible in the residence parts of town, the denizens of which are shy today on a stovepipe extension, fences, yard gates and outhouses, as any cases the wreckage having disappeared in space — Report.

Horrible and disastrous accident. Yesterday, after noon when a number of employees had already gone to lunch, one of the most heart rendering accidents occurred at the Mint when Mr. Osborne Parker, an old gentleman of 60 years and of spotless character. Details of the death are way too gruesome to be relayed here.

Someone has started the report that the Eagle Market of this city is going. Out of business, something of that tenor. It is not true.
